Our Response to COVID-19

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been striving to provide worship experiences for as many people as possible and to continue as many ministries and missions as we can within safety guidelines.

In the spring and summer of 2020, our office administrator, Katie Williams, provided daily inspirational messages to everyone on our email list. Also, Bob Gardner recorded daily Lenten piano meditations, as his scheduled weekly concert series was canceled.

Starting in April, our interim pastor, Reverend Nevin Werron, Will Powell and Bob Gardner began recording audio services that were released each Sunday. These were available by email and on our website.

In October, we resumed in-person services in the sanctuary. These were also available as audio services and now we have begun live streaming on Facebook.

The church building is open only on Sunday mornings. Anyone entering receives a temperature check and must use hand sanitizer and remain masked at all times. Sadly, there are no children’s programs, nursery coverage or fellowship gatherings at this time and any Board or Committee meetings are held via zoom.

Will Powell records choir members individually in a safe setting and creates anthems to be played during church services.

Bob Gardner recorded piano meditations for release every day in advent and directed the bell choir outdoors on December Wednesdays.

Recorded services for Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, consisting of songs and Bible readings, were sent via email.

We realize that not everyone has email or computer access. Many of those folks listen in to services with other members via telephone.

We pray that we will be able to continue all of our ministries and missions soon, but meanwhile, try to keep everyone safe and well.
