Biography
The Rev. Dr. Michael J. Feicht
Michael Feicht has been the pastor of the First Baptist Church
of Haddonfield for over 10 years. He is married to Elizabeth Marsh.
There are three children: Peter age 13, Emily age 17, and Sarah, who lives
in Cedar Falls Iowa, with her husband Bob Fredericks and son David.
Michael grew up in New York city, served as a Peace Corps
Volunteer in Iran, taught high school in New York, completed a M.A. in
literature at the University of Iowa, and an M. Div. and D. Min. at Andover
Newton Theological School. He has done graduate research in Islam with
faculty from Harvard, Andover Newton, and the McDonald Black Center for Islamic
Studies at Hartford Seminary.
He has served pastorates at The Southborough Community Church,
Southborough, Massachusetts, and The First Baptist Church of Hanson,
Massachusetts.
He taught at Andover Newton for 7 years, taught at Eastern
College and lectured at Harvard's Divinity School.
He has been involved in developing strong ties between churches
from a diversity of ethnic and cultural backgrounds. The First Baptist
Church in Haddonfield and The Spanish Baptist Church in Pennsauken have engaged
in co-operative service projects in Puerto Rico.
The pastor is committed to developing global outreach and
international partnerships. He is currently involved in establishing
mission outreach and partnerships for medical, counseling and economic
development programs in Rwanda, Africa, and is also involved in developing
ministries in Moscow, Russia.
His local work includes involvement in Urban Promise Ministries
in Camden, Cathedral Kitchen in Camden, Habitat for Humanity and support for
recovery programs.
Michael's vision focuses on building a strong faith community at
First Baptist. Support for family, personal growth, and service
opportunities are offered. He seeks to help build a caring church family
that works in partnerships with faith communities locally and globally.
